Q: Why should I paint my commercial space?
A: You can benefit from a fresh paint job on your commercial property in many ways:
- Enhance your business’s curb appeal and other visual aesthetics
- Increase the influx of customers
- Improve your workplace
- Increase employee motivation
- Increase the value of your property
- Help you keep pace with the competition
- Extend the life of your commercial building
Moreover, painting is a cost-effective way to enjoy all these benefits without being subject to costly renovations.
Q: How often should a commercial building be repainted?
A: Commercial properties are usually repainted every 3 to 5 years, especially if the paint job is good quality. However, it depends on various environmental factors. Regular exterior and interior painting are essential aspects of preventative maintenance for commercial establishments and facilities.
A new coat of paint protects the exterior surface of your commercial building against bad weather and insects, while a new paint job protects the interior walls from stains and scuffs. New paint on both exterior and interior surfaces helps prevent expensive structural damage.
Q: Do you use latex or oil-based paint?
A: We use latex paints on all of our commercial paint jobs. Today’s latex paints have improved significantly and are almost as durable as oil-based paints. Latex paints dry faster and apply more easily. They are also more flexible, easier to remove, and less odorous than oil-based paints. Latex paints also come in a wide variety of colors.
Some latex paints allow painting in outside temperatures of 50 degrees Fahrenheit and lower, while others offer better resistance against fading and mold.
Oil-based paints, on the other hand, give a hard, durable, and smooth finish. They also require only a few coats and have exceptional flow and leveling. However, the problem with oil paints is pollution. A gallon of oil-based paint contains around 2 quarts of mineral spirits. As the paint dries, these solvents evaporate as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the air. Not only do oil paints emit smelly fumes, but they also pose a health and environmental hazard.
These are some of the concerns why oil-based paints have become less popular. On the other hand, latex paints are now preferred for the majority of house painting projects.
Q: Do you use commercial paints that are safe for the environment?
A: Custom Painting, Inc. uses low- and zero-VOC paints to help protect your customers, employees, and visitors, as well as our crew who work in your commercial properties.
Q: What brands of paint do you use?
A: Our experienced painters typically use Kelly-Moore Paints paints. However, we can use other reputable paint brands per customer request.

Q: How do you estimate a commercial painting job?
A: We consider the following factors while assessing your commercial property:
- Is it an exterior or interior space? This will help us determine the type of paint for the job.
- What is the size of the area that needs painting? The size is measured by square footage and will determine the required amount of paint.
- What type of paint will you use? Commercial paint costs vary depending on color, finish, brand, etc.
- The timeline and other particulars, such as detailed trim work or extraneous repairs, will factor into the project’s complexity.
Q: Do you charge for an estimate?
